Busca (Italy) – June 7th – On a day packed with twists and turns, Julen Avila Cortes (KTM MTR Racing), with a double victory in today’s two races, wins the Piedmont GP and reclaims the World Championship red plate. Mattia Rato (TSV Racing), in his very first S1GP race, finishes second overall and wins the Rookies Cup. Marc Reiner Schmidt (Team 11), due to a few too many mistakes, has to settle for third place.

S1GP Fast Race

At the start of the Fast Race, it is Steve Bonnal (TSV Racing) who takes the lead at the first corner, but in the phases immediately following the start, the French rider crashes due to a slide, also involving Marc Reiner Schmidt (Team 11). Julen Avila Cortes (KTM MTR Racing) takes the lead of the race; thanks to a strong opening stint, the Spanish rider manages to immediately pull away from the pack. In the first few laps, Elia Sammartin (Honda BRT Racing) finds himself in second place, followed by Mattia Rato (TSV Racing). Marc Reiner Schmidt begins a great comeback from the back of the field, which, as the laps go by, brings him all the way up to second position, but by then Julen Avila Cortes is already too far ahead. Steve Bonnal, who struggled to restart his bike and set off again far behind, finished in 13th position. Mattia Rato, who crossed the finish line in third place, won the Rookies Cup standings.

S1GP FastRace Top Ten:

AVILA CORTES Julen (ESP, KTM) 11 laps in 14:15.923; 2. SCHMIDT Marc Reiner (GER, Ducati) +02.777; 3. RATO Mattia (ITA, TM) +08.306; 4. SAMMARTIN Elia (ITA, Honda) +14.730; 5.

S1GP SuperFinal

Marc Reiner Schmidt is lightning fast at the start, surprising Julen Avila Cortes and immediately taking the lead; behind the German, there is an excellent start for Gabin Pernat (Insane Suzuki), who slots into second position. Schmidt immediately entered the Joker Lane on the second lap; the Ducati rider seemed able to hold onto the lead, even though he had to watch his back from Avila, who was making up ground lap after lap. But as often happens in racing, the unpredictable is always around the corner: Schmidt suffered a crash in the sky section, which effectively cost him the race victory.

Behind the top two, a tremendous performance from Mattia Rato, who, thanks to his third-place finish in this final heat, can celebrate his first S1GP podium. Julen Avila Cortes wins the Piedmont GP ahead of Mattia Rato, with Marc Reiner Schmidt in third, and returns as world championship leader. In the Rookies Cup standings, Mattia Rato takes the top step of the podium, followed by Melvin Viola and Kevin Negri. Mitja Krasniqi remains the leader of the Rookie Cup standings.

Busca (Italy) —June 7th — In the S4 class, victory goes to local rider Edoardo Bertola (KTM MTR Racing), who takes home the win in S4 and becomes the new red plate holder. Yevsevii Kovalov (Husqvarna) returns to the top step of the podium in S2, but Leonardo Lapadula (Team 11) remains the championship leader. David Zsolt Bereczki is the winner in the SM Junior.

S4 Race 2

Edoardo Bertola (KTM MTR Racing), in this second heat as well, surprises pole-sitter Alessandro Morosi (Gazza Racing); the rider aboard the KTM was able to enter the first corner in the lead, but Morosi immediately glued himself to Bertola’s rear wheel. Antonino Navarria (Honda) suffered a crash during the opening laps, which ruled out another good result for him, as he went on to finish in 10th place.

The two front-runners maintained an incredible pace, which allowed them to build a decent gap over their pursuers. Alessandro Morosi studied his opponent for several laps before launching the decisive attack during the 12th lap, going on to win ahead of Edoardo Bertola. Third position was a duel between Francisco Gomez Requena (GasGas) and Alex Gourdon Rafela (Husqvarna), with the former getting the upper hand.

S4 Race 2 Top Ten:

MOROSI Alessandro (ITA, Honda) 18 laps in 20:35.078; 2. BERTOLA Edoardo (ITA, KTM) +00.321; 3. GOMEZ REQUENA Francisco (ESP, GasGas) +07.995; 4. GOURDON RAFAEL Alex (ESP, Husqvarna) +13.943; 5. JAGIELSKI Tomasz (POL, TM) +1 Lap; 10. NAVARRIA Antonino Achille (ITA, Honda) +42.955

S4 Race 3

Third and final start of the weekend for the S4, and once again Edoardo Bertola manages to get off the line incredibly fast and takes the lead at the first corner. Alessandro Morosi, however, decides not to wait in this heat, and right from the very first corners, he tries to take the lead; but during the second lap of the race, a technical issue forces him to retire. For Edoardo Bertola, the path is cleared toward victory: the home rider, having been born very close to the circuit, manages his race all the way to the checkered flag. Second position goes to Francisco Gomez Requena, and third position to Antonino Navarria. On the overall podium for the day, Edoardo Bertola takes the top step and the championship leader’s red plate, with second place going to Alessandro Morosi and third to Francisco Gomez Requena.

S2 Race 1

Great show in the first heat of the S2: due to a small mistake at the start, Yevsevii Kovalov (Husqvarna) fails to capitalize on his pole position, and Leonardo Lapadula (Team 11) takes charge of the field. During the first lap, Nathan Terraneo (Yamaha) falls victim to a slide, which sees him rejoin in last position and far behind. The leading duo maintained a great pace throughout the race, and Leonardo Lapadula seemed able to hold tightly onto his first position despite pressure from Kovalov. However, during the 12th lap—with only four laps remaining until the end—he slid out, handing the victory over to Yevsevii Kovalov. Lapadula was still able to salvage second position, while Riccardo Andreotti (TSV Racing) finished third at the line. Nathan Terraneo, after a great comeback, finished in tenth place.

S2 Race 1 Top Ten:

S2 Race 2

Leonardo Lapadula shows up in the lead at the first corner and manages to stay ahead of his rival Yevsevii Kovalov. However, after a couple of laps, the rider aboard the TM has to give in and is passed by the Ukrainian rider. In trying not to lose contact with the race leader, Leonardo suffers a crash, also losing second position to Nathan Terraneo; the Swiss rider was able to take the lead of the race following a mistake by Yevsevii Kovalov. Terraneo covered the remaining nine laps defending himself by all means from Kovalov’s attacks, managing to take home the victory and third place in the overall standings. Yevsevii Kovalov wins the race ahead of Leonardo Lapadula and Nathan Terraneo. Lapadula remains the championship leader.

SM Junior Race 1

It is Mark Szabo who takes the lead of the race when the red lights go out, surprising David Zsolt Bereczki. The Romanian rider held onto first position for a few laps until he made a small mistake, giving Bereczki the green light. At this point, with the advantage of a clear track ahead, the Hungarian rider was able to pull away from his direct rival, winning the race with a massive gap over Szabo. Third position goes to Lorenz Bang, while there was a convincing performance from the very young and only girl on the grid, Liliana Irzyk, who finished in fifth place.

David Zsolt Bereczki was thus able to win the race with a solid advantage. Third position goes to Lorenz Bang; the winning rider of the Piedmontese round extends his lead in the standings.
Busca (Italy) – June 6th – Great show on this first day of the Piemonte GP. Julen Avila Cortes (KTM MTR Racing) takes home both pole position and the victory in race one. Second position goes to Steve Bonnal (TSV Racing), while third place is claimed by Mattia Rato (TSV Racing), who also takes home the victory in the Rookies Cup.

Time practice & Superpole S1GP

Q1 opens just as the previous practice session concluded, with Marc Reiner Schmidt (Team 11) setting the fastest time. The German rider once again reaffirmed his speed and tenacity aboard his Ducati. In second position was an excellent Julen Avila Cortes (KTM MTR Racing); after a less-than-perfect round in Sardinia, the Spanish rider bounced back immediately by setting a great time. Third position went to Milan Sitniansky (Honda). There was also an outstanding performance from S1GP rookie Mattia Rato (TSV Racing), who set the seventh fastest time overall. The last of the riders to qualify for Q2 was the Frenchman Malvin Viola (Gazza Racing).

In Q2, the tables turned: Steve Bonnal (TSV Racing) clocked an exceptional time, breaking through the one-minute and seventeen-second barrier. Julen Avila Cortes secured the second fastest time again, while Marc Reiner Schmidt—who was only able to complete 2 laps due to a technical issue—still managed to claim the third fastest time. Another massive performance came from Mattia Rato, who finished in fourth place. Elia Sammartin (Honda BRT Team), a major protagonist of the Sardinia GP, could not manage anything beyond the seventh fastest time.

The Superpole crowned a superb Julen Avila Cortes, who took home the pole position ahead of Bonnal and Schmidt. The latter took to the track on his second bike and was unable to perform exactly as he would have liked.

S1GP Time Practice Q1:

SCHMIDT Marc Reiner (GER, Ducati) 1:17.563; 2. AVILA CORTES Julen (ESP, KTM) 1:17.591; 3. SITNIANSKY Milan (CZE, Honda) 1:17.627; 4. SAMMARTIN Elia (ITA, Honda) 1:17.666; 5. BONNAL Steve (FRA, TM) 1:17.696; 6. KRASNIQI Mitja (SUI, Honda) 1:17.703; 7. RATO Mattia (ITA, TM) 1:17.730; 8. NEGRI Kevin (FRA, Honda) 1:18.176; 9. VIOLA Melvin (FRA, Honda) 1:18.274; 10.

Race One

As the lights went out, Steve Bonnal took the lead of the race, followed by Marc Reiner Schmidt. The pole-sitter, who didn’t get a good launch, had to slot into third position. Elia Sammartin, starting from the third row, suffered a problem during the warm-up lap and had to pull into the pit lane to fix it, throwing away any chance of a comeback race.

During the second lap, the German rider immediately launched a decisive overtake on the Frenchman to take the lead. Schmidt instantly set an incredible pace, allowing him to open up a decent gap over his rivals. However, at the halfway point of the heat, a technical issue forced him to slow down, causing him to drop several positions before ultimately retiring from the race.

The battle for the victory then shifted to Bonnal and Avila Cortes. The two put on a massive show, and on the final lap, the Spanish rider executed an exceptional late-braking maneuver at the end of the straightaway to pass the TM rider and claim the win. An excellent third place went to Mattia Rato, who thanks to this result took home the victory in the Rookies Cup.

Busca (Italy) – June 6th – The S4 class speaks Italian in the second round at Busca. Alessandro Morosi (Gazza Racing) wins race one, followed by Edoardo Bertola (KTM MTR Racing), with Antonino Navarria (Honda) finishing third. Pole position goes to Yevsevii Kovalov (Husqvarna) in S2, while David Zsolt Bereczki is the fastest in the SM Junior.

S4 Time Practice

The S4 class speaks Italian: the front row was dominated by home riders, with the top three all within the same second. The championship leader, Alessandro Sciarretta, will not take part in the race due to a scheduling conflict with a national speed race, leaving the field wide open for his rivals.

The best time went to Alessandro Morosi (Gazza Racing), who battled throughout the entire heat with Edoardo Bertola (KTM MTR Racing). The two riders, who are teammates in the CEV in Spain but compete for two different teams in the European Championship, put on a great show, with Morosi ultimately coming out on top. Antonino Achille Navarria (Honda) completes the front row.

S4 Time Practice Top Ten:

MOROSI Alessandro (ITA, Honda) 1:07.541; 2. BERTOLA Edoardo (ITA, KTM) 1:07.614; 3. NAVARRIA Antonino Achille (ITA, Honda) 1:07.973; 4. GOURDON RAFAEL Alex (ESP, Husqvarna) 1:08.303; 5. GOMEZ REQUENA Francisco (ESP, GasGas) 1:08.953; 6. BARCO IGLESIAS Alejandro (ESP, KTM) 1:09.050; 7. KRZEMIEN Kamil (POL, Husqvarna) 1:09.404; 8. JAGIELSKI Tomasz (POL, TM) 1:10.182; 9. SALMINEN Miklas (FIN, Husqvarna) 1:10.403; 10. VALENTI Giovanni (ITA, Honda) 1:11.731

S4 Race 1:

At the start of S4 Race 1, Antonino Navarria (Honda) jumped the start, receiving a ten-second penalty. Edoardo Bertola (KTM MTR Racing) took advantage of a poor start by Alessandro Morosi (Gazza Racing), who plummeted down to fifth position. However, the Honda-mounted rider launched a great comeback, making up positions; during the eleventh lap, he made his move on Edoardo Bertola, taking the lead and going on to win with a solid margin over his rivals. Behind him, Navarria glued himself to Bertola’s rear wheel, and the two rode the second half of the race together. Thanks to this strategy, Navarria managed to finish in third place despite the penalty.

MOROSI Alessandro (ITA, Honda) 18 laps in 20:35.437; 2. BERTOLA Edoardo (ITA, KTM) +02.292; 3. NAVARRIA Antonino Achille (ITA, Honda) +12.795; 4. GOURDON RAFAEL Alex (ESP, Husqvarna) +17.837; 5.
S2 Free Practice:

Nathan Terraneo (Yamaha) took home the best performance in free practice; the rider also suffered a lowside crash, which however did not affect his lap time. Behind him was the Ukrainian rider Yevsevii Kovalov (Husqvarna), with an excellent Riccardo Andreotti in third position. Championship leader Leonardo Lapadula (Team 11) decided not to take to the track in order to save a set of tires and try to fully fight for pole position.

Kovalov looked fast right from the very first minutes of qualifying and battled on equal terms with Nathan Terraneo (Yamaha), who had to settle for second position on the starting grid. Third place went to the red plate holder, Leonardo Lapadula.

SM Junior Free practice:

Hungarian rider David Zsolt Bereczki (Husqvarna), the dominant force of the round in Sardinia, makes no mistakes on the Kart Planet track in Busca, immediately taking the lead in the standings and opening up a decent gap over his rivals. Behind him was Lorenz Bang (KTM), with Mark Szabo (Husqvarna) in third. There was also an excellent performance from the only female rider on the grid, Liliana Irzik (KTM), who managed to set a good lap time to finish her practice session in sixth position.

Busca (Cuneo, Italy) 3 June 2026 – Following the spectacular excitement of the GP of Sardegna in Tramatza, the 2026 FIM Supermoto World Championship is gearing up for its third, […]

Busca (Cuneo, Italy) 3 June 2026 – Following the spectacular excitement of the GP of Sardegna in Tramatza, the 2026 FIM Supermoto World Championship is gearing up for its third, highly anticipated round of the season. On the weekend of June 6 and 7, the world’s drifting elite will battle it out on the famous Piedmontese circuit of Busca, a historic and technical track that promises to deliver high-tension racing.

The world standings currently see German champion Marc Reiner Schmidt (Team Undici) leading the pack with 155 points. Schmidt has set an impressive pace so far, but behind him, the competition is fiercer than ever. His closest pursuer is Spain’s Julen Avila Cortes (KTM MTR Team) with 131 points, followed closely by Frenchman Steve Bonnal (TSV Racing) with 125 points.

The best representative of the Italian colors is the experienced Elia Sammartin (BRT Factory Team), solid in fourth position overall with 117 points and ready to exploit the home-turf advantage to step into the podium in front of the Italian fans. Provisional fifth place goes to the excellent Swiss rider Mitja Krasniqi (Honda – GAZZA Racing) with 85 points.

The Busca round will feature a top-tier international grid. Among the riders to watch for the top positions are certainly the Czech Republic’s Jonas Nedved (79 points TMS Tuning Motorsport) and the young talent Two For Two Jan Ulman on Fantic, alongside the very fast Frenchmen Raphael Payet and Gabin Pernat (Team Insane Suzuki).

Great anticipation also surrounds the other Italian riders in the race: veteran Giovanni Bussei on Ducati and Michael Vertemati Jiesute Vertemati Racing, both determined to make their mark on their home track. The Italian crowd will also be able to welcome back Frenchman Kevin Negri (Honda), who joins the battle this weekend.

With riders coming from Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Estonia, Brazil, Portugal, and the Netherlands, the show in Busca is guaranteed.

In the S2 class, the spotlight is on the large Italian contingent and especially on the leader of the general standings: Leonardo Lapadula (team Undici) . The Italian arrives in Busca firmly in command of the championship with 90 points, but he will have to watch his back from his closest chasers. Just 7 points behind is the Ukrainian Yevsevii Kovalov (second with 83 points), closely followed by Switzerland’s Nathan Terraneo, third with 81 points.

Further back but fully in contention for the podium are Romania’s Mark Luca Iovita (69 points) and Belgium’s Noah Champagne (68 points). The Busca grid will also feature other protagonists ready to climb the standings, including Frenchmen Djamal Juste Watt (60 points) and Tao Abraham (55 points), as well as Italians Daniele Cornolti (47 points), Riccardo Andreotti (40 points), Riccardo Olivier (39 points), and Diego Colognesi (29 points). Seeking redemption instead are the Czech Republic’s Martin Bubak (16 points) and Giorgio Trovato (15 points).

The S4 class, the exciting class reserved exclusively for road sections (asphalt only), lives of a very hot confrontation on the Italy-Spain axis. Currently, the continental standings are led by the Italian Alessandro Sciarretta with 70 points. Behind him is Edoardo Bertola, second in the championship with 64 points.

The Spanish patrol is however very close and fierce: Francisco Gomez Requena occupies third position with 63 points, followed by compatriot Alejandro Barco Iglesias with 54 points and Alex Gourdon Rafael with 48 points. Also appearing in the top 10 of the general standings are Antonino Achille Navarria (6th with 45 points) and Spaniard Theo Gourdon Rafael (42 points) for all of them, the corners of Busca will represent the perfect opportunity to shake up the standings.

There is also room for the very young talents of the SM Junior, the class that showcases the future stars of world motard. The Eastern European contingent arrives in full force with Poland’s Liliana and Klemens Irzyk, Romania’s Mark Szabo and Dan Suciu, and Hungary’s David Zsolt Bereczki. There is also great anticipation for the performances of Austria’s Diego Walkner and Lukas Kraus, Great Britain’s Edward Darnton, Belgium’s Jean Rondeaux, and Germany’s Lorenz Bang. For them, Busca will represent a fundamental formative testing ground to define the values on the field.
