DEFENDING CHAMPION MATEJ KOKES IS BACK IN POLE POSITION ALEX RUIZ JIMENEZ PREVAILED OVER RIVALS IN THE S4

St.Wendel  (Germany), 10th June 2023 – The spectacular circuit of Sankt Wendel welcomed the SM Junior as well as the S4 riders and saw them involved in epic battles to secure the pole position for tomorrow’s races. In the SM Junior, Matej Kokes (Husqvarna) was the author of a phenomenal performance. In the S4, the challenge was all Spanish with Alex Ruiz Jimenez (L30 Racing Tm Factory) and Francisco Gomez Requena (Husqvarna). The TM rider eventually prevailed over his compatriot.

Defending Champion Matej Kokes (Husqvarna) took the lead forcefully and was followed by home riders Til Albrecht (Yamaha) and Paul Mueller (GasGas).

SM Junior time practice

The battle for the pole position in the Junior category saw three riders battling it out for the victory. It cost Matej Kokes (Husqvarna) a great deal of sweat to take the first place and was followed by Til Albrecht (Yamaha) who chased him throughout the race and had to leave the pole to his rival for just three tenths of a second. The other home rider Paul Mueller rounded off the front row for the two races which will take place tomorrow. Current series leader, Italian Andrea Benvenuti (MTR Ktm Racing), did not reach the expected results and had to feel happy with the seventh position. Nathan Terraneo, second classified in Busca, ended up with the fifth place but with a major gap separating him from the leader.

S4 Free Practices

Alex Ruiz Jimenez (L30Racing Tm Factory), managed by Ivan Lazzarini, achieved the best performance at the city circuit of Sankt Wendel. The Spanish rider enjoyed the German track from the first laps. In the free practices Kevin Vandi (L30Racing Tm Factory) struggled to keep up his teammate’s speed and had to feel happy with the second place. Third position went to Francisco Gomez Requena (Husqvarna).

S4 Time Practice

The great heat was the backdrop of the S4 time practice where three riders only set astonishing fast lap times. Starting from the initial laps it seemed like Alex Ruiz Jimenez (L30 Racing Tm Factory) and Francisco Gomez Requena (Husqvarna) were the two main competitors for the pole position. With his final attempt, Alex Ruiz Jimenez set the fastest time which secured him the first place. Kevin Vandi reached the second position in the free practice but could not double the achievement and qualified third.
