Alcarras (Catalunya) – 17 September 2023. This GP was not granted at all and featured several twists and turns in the final race which make everything possible as per the Championship winner. Lukas Hollbacher was the author of a perfect GP and came home with pole position and victory in all three motos.
S1GP FastRace
Lukas Hollbacher (MTR Ktm Racing) was the author of a thrilling performance. The Austrian rider was perfect at the start from the pole position and took the lead of the race. Thanks to an unbeatable race pace Lukas strengthened his position lap after lap and opened a gap over rivals, eventually crossing the finish line in first place and taking the second victory of this GP. Marc Reiner Schmidt (L30 Racing Tm Factory) tried to stay close to the Ktm rival but was able to do so only in the first laps.
Thomas Chareyre (TC4R1 Racing) was the third to cross the finish line, thanks to a solid start where he moved to third place. The French struggled to keep up with the rhythm of his rivals in the first laps but in the final ones he moved closer to Schmidt, but still not enough to overtake him. The first position of the Rookie standings went to Steve Bonnal (TC4R1 Racing) who was fourth overall.

The race was full of turning points. Lukas Hollbacher left no chance to his rivals and pulled away to take the lead followed by Marc Reiner Schmidt and Thomas Chareyre. In this final heat Hollbacher could not open a solid gap as he did in the previous ones. Halfway through the race Marc Reiner Schmidt was affected by a technical problem which forced him to slow down his speed and eventually qualified nineth. At that stage Chareyre went full speed and closed the gap that divided him from Hollbacher, moving to the front in the penultimate lap just because Hollbacher had not gone through the Joker Lane.
The Austrian rider, with a masterful maneuver, overtook his rival at the beginning of the off-road section and took back the GP lead, eventually winning the third heat of the weekend. Thanks to another excellent performance Steve Bonnal came home with the victory in the Rookie.
Thanks to today’s victory Lukas Hollbacher only has a 3-point-gap dividing him from standings leader and there is still one race to go.
