Sankt Wendel (Germany) 23 September 2026 – The countdown has officially begun, next weekend, September 26 and 27, the world’s best riders of the discipline will battle in Germany for the 2026 edition of the FIM SuperMoto of Nations and the FIM Junior SuperMoto of Nations.
Anticipation is through the roof, thanks to an absolute historic turning point: for the first time in the history of the Trophy of Nations, the world championship event will hit the track on a street circuit.
The theater of the event will be the famous Sankt Wendel track, a historic location and always a fundamental stop of the World Championship, famous for the extraordinary participation and warmth of the public.
The race layout promises to be spectacular and selective. Although developed on a street circuit, the track combines an extremely technical and fast asphalt section with a dirt section, designed to encourage overtaking and deliver breathtaking duels until the last corner.
This year the eve picture is particularly crackling. Austria, the defending nation of the trophy, will not be present at this edition and therefore cannot defend the previously won victory, leaving the throne vacant.
Starting as the favorites with the number 1 plate will be the Czech Republic (composed of Milan Sitniansky, Jonas Nedved, and Erik Provaznik led by Team Manager David Novotný), which will nonetheless have to defend itself against the attacks of historical superpowers and fierce contenders: France, the authentic dominant force of the competition with 13 trophies in its cabinet, lines up with a top-level lineup formed by Sylvain Bidart, Raphael Payet, and Steve Bonnal (Team Manager Sébastien Bonnal).
Italy, ready to play an absolute leading role thanks to the Italian team captained by Team Manager Elia Sammartin and composed of Edgardo Borella, Luca D’Addato, and Elia Sammartin himself.
Host Germany, which on paper enjoys the favor of the predictions and fields an exceptional trio led by Marc-Reiner Schmidt, Jan Deitenbach, and Nico Joannidis (Team Manager Heiko Junge).
The senior starting grid will also see the start of Switzerland (with Mitja Krasniqi, Raoul Tschupp, and Yannick Bärtschi), Great Britain (Chris Hodgson, Alex Mullaney, and Ryan Cringler), Belgium (Romain Kaivers, Noah Champagne, and Evan Gourmet), and Poland (Jakub Ryndak, Kamil Mlodawski, and Kamil Kowalczyk).
Spectacle guaranteed also for the FIM Junior SuperMoto of Nations (reserved for young talents aged 15 to 23), where Junior Italy will field Leonardo Sante Lapadula, Riccardo Andreotti, and Davide Sacchetti, ready to battle their peers from France, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Austria, Finland, and Estonia.
The thrills are guaranteed: engines revving in Sankt Wendel for a weekend that promises to write an indelible page in the history of international Supermoto.
