ABSOLUTE DOMINANCE FOR MARC-REINER SCHMIDT IN THE BELGIAN GP, MITJA KRASNIQI ROOKIE CUP CHAMPION

Mettet (Belgium) 11 October – A wonderful season comes to an end for the S1GP World Championship, which featured exciting races that kept the battle for the final victory open until the very last race. Marc Reiner Schmidt (Team 11), debuting with his Ducati, won the 2026 title ahead of Steve Bonnal (TSV Racing) and Julen Avila Cortes (KTM MTR Racing). In the Rookies Cup class, victory went to Swiss rider Mitja Krasniqi (Gazza Racing).

S1GP SuperFinal

Marc Reiner Schmidt (Team 11) does not want to leave anything to his rivals, and in this SuperFinal as well he asserts himself with incredible dominance. His start as the red lights go out is perfect, and he immediately takes the lead. As in the other heats, the German rider set an incredible pace, leaving his pursuers to fight only for the remaining positions. Steve Bonnal (TSV Racing) slotted immediately into second place and tried the strategy of taking the joker lane in the opening laps, but the result did not change. In the early stages, Elia Sammartin (BRT Racing) was in third place and Edgardo Borella (Kawasaki) in fourth. Julen Avila Cortes (KTM MTR Racing) had to push hard to recover up to third position at the finish. The top three places of the race also mirror the top positions of the World Championship, which see Marc Reiner Schmidt take home his fifth world title, second place for Steve Bonnal, and the bronze medal for Julen Avila Cortes. In the Rookies Cup class, the day’s victory went to Raphael Payet (KTM), but the overall standings were won by Mitja Krasniqi (Gazza Racing).
