Mettet (Belgium) 10 October – The final GP of the season kicked off at the historic track of Mettet, in Belgium, and as usual the qualifying races took place on Friday. The fastest rider on track was Lukas Hollbacher (Schruf Racing), who seems to be much stronger after winning the Trophy of Nations with team Austria. Second place went to Marc Reiner Schmidt (Team 11), who recently achieved the victory in the World standings while Steve Bonnal (TSV Racing Factory Team TM Corse) was third.
Time practice & Superpole S1GP
Marc Reiner Schmidt (Team 11) was the fastest in the time practices, in fact the German rider knows this track very well and did not struggle at all to set the best time.
In Q1, which is the same for all riders, Marc Reiner Schmidt took first place once again while second place unexpectedly went to home rider Romain Kaivers (TSV Racing Factory Team TM Corse). Steve Bonnal (TSV Racing Factory Team TM Corse) clinched third place.
Excellent performance for Elia Sammartin (BRT Honda Redmoto), who qualified fourth, with Lukas Hollbacher fifth followed by Julen Avila Cortes (MTR Ktm Racing) who rounded off the second row.
Q2 was hard fought till the checkered flag with three riders protagonists of the battle. Steve Bonnal was the fastest thanks to a thrilling time which allowed him to qualify in front of Marc Reiner Schmidt. Lukas Hollbacher ended up third and will battle it out for pole position with the other two challengers. A star of the session was Mattia Rato (TSV Racing Factory Team TM Corse), who is facing a World Championship race for the first time after being the author of a great performance at the Junior Trophy of Nations courtesy of the sixth place he secured.
Lukas Hollbacher was the first rider to get to the track and set a phenomenal time. Schmidt and Bonnal made some mistakes and could not take away the pole position from the Austrian rider.
