GREAT PERFORMANCE BY ITALIAN RIDERS: LAPADULA WINS THE S2, SCIARRETTA TAKES THE S4 and BERECZKI WINS THE SM JUNIOR

Tramatza (Sardegna|Italy) – May 17 – Beautiful and hard-fought races across all three European Championship categories: Leonardo Lapadula secures a double win to take the S2, Alessandro Sciarretta (TSV Racing) dominates the S4 and Bereczki wins the SM Junior.

S2 Race 1

A huge battle in this first S2 moto. Leonardo Lapadula (Team 11) and Nathan Terraneo (Yamaha) get off to a great start. Terraneo immediately takes the lead, but behind him, Lapadula doesn’t let him break away, and the two front-runners leave the rest of the pack far behind. During the tenth lap, Leonardo Lapadula launches the decisive attack and takes the lead, proving to have a superior race pace compared to his rival. Terraneo tried his best to keep up but was unable to do so. Lapadula wins his first moto of the season ahead of Terraneo, with Noah Champagne (TSV Racing) in third place but finished well behind the leaders.

S2 Race 2

From his pole position, Leonardo Lapadula takes the lead right from the first corner, closely followed by Nathan Terraneo. The two young riders immediately set an incredible pace; Terraneo seemed able to match Lapadula’s speed, but during the race, also due to lapped riders in the first dirt section, he lost crucial seconds. Lapadula was able to build up a solid lead, commanding the rest of the race solo and crossing the finish line with a wide margin. Behind them, third position went to Yevsevii Kovalov, who thanks to this finish was able to step onto the third tier of the podium.

S4 Race 2

Alessandro Sciarretta (TSV Racing), after a good warm-up, found the right setup for his TM. Launching into first position, the Italian rider took the lead of the pack and managed to find an excellent pace. Behind him, Francisco Gomez Requena (GasGas), winner of the first moto, tried to find the right opening to take the lead, but Sciarretta made no mistakes and closed every possible gap to the Spaniard. Finishing third at the end of the race was a solid Edoardo Bertola (KTM MTR Racing) who, after a lackluster start, struggled more than expected to move into third place. It was a tough race for the pole-sitter and local idol Michele Cuccu (Gazza Racing); after holding third position for a long time, the Sardinian rider dropped his pace in the final laps, ultimately finishing in fifth place.

S4 Race 3

Pure entertainment in this third S4 moto. Francisco Gomez Requena takes the lead at the first corner, while Michele Cuccu, once again in this race, fails to capitalize on his pole position and will be forced to retire over the course of it. The Spaniard pulls Alessandro Sciarretta and Edoardo Bertola along with him. The three front-runners maintained an incredible pace, setting lap times worthy of qualifying. On the fifth lap, Sciarretta takes the lead, but on the following lap, due to a mistake, he is overtaken again by Gomez Requena. However, the Italian rider promptly fights back into the lead, pulling Edoardo Bertola along with him. The two spent the final 11 laps glued to one another, with Sciarretta crossing the finish line just 0.131 seconds ahead. Third place went to Alejandro Barco Iglesias, while Antonino Navarria put on an excellent performance, finishing fourth after starting from the last spot on the grid.

Alessandro Sciarretta wins the race and claims the red plate, with Edoardo Bertola in second and Francisco Gomez Requena in third.

SM Junior Race 1

David Zolst Bereczki (Husqvarna) was surgical in this first SM Junior moto, delivering a perfect start and an unsustainable pace for all his rivals. Behind him, Lorenz Bang (KTM) tried to keep up with his direct competitor only during the opening laps, but without success. An excellent third position went to the Frenchman Jean Rondeaux (TM Moto). Mark Szabo, who had shown a strong performance in practice, suffered a problem during the early laps and had to put on a great comeback drive that brought him up to fourth place. A solid race as well for Edward Darton (TSV Racing), who started from the back of the grid but, thanks to an excellent first half of the race, crossed the line in sixth place.
