Sankt Wendel (Germany) September 27 – France dominates the Supermoto of Nations with both teams in Sankt Wendel. Thanks to Steve Bonnal’s great victory in the second moto, the transalpine teams can lift the trophy for the 14th time. Second place goes to a tenacious Czech Republic, and the host team, Germany, finishes third.
RACE 1 S1oN (Riders 1 + Riders 2 + Riders 3)
In the first moto, the nations that qualified with the best scores decided to line up their second rider on the front row, leaving the team leaders further back in the hopes of making up as many positions as possible. At the start, Nico Joannidis takes command of operations, and at the third curve, contact leads to a multi-rider crash involving Elia Sammartin and Luca D’Addato, who had gotten off to a perfect start. At this point, Czech rider Milan Sitniansky takes the lead of the race. Hometown idol Marc Reiner Schmidt, starting from the back, immediately tries to make up ground in the early laps, and on the sixth lap, when he catches up to Steve Bonnal, with a rough move he passes the Frenchman but causes him to crash. However, the German rider, with an incredible comeback, manages to work his way back up to first position. Steve Bonnal finishes in twelfth position, while his teammate Sylvain Bidart, with a consistent performance, concludes in fourth place. Worth mentioning is the comeback from the back of the field by Elia Sammartin, who finishes in third place. After this first moto, the Czech Republic leads the standings.

RACE 2 S1oN (Riders 1 + Riders 2 + Riders 3)
In the second and final moto of the day, the French team manager decided to have Steve Bonnal start from pole position, and the young rider did not disappoint expectations. With an all-out attacking race, he was able to build a considerable lead over his opponents, with Milan Sitniansky and Elia Sammartin once again behind him. From the back of the field, Marc Reiner Schmidt attempted a comeback in this second race as well, but had to settle for second place because Bonnal was now too far ahead. The French team, thanks also to the results of Sylvain Bidart—once again capable of avoiding mistakes and bringing home important points with a fifth place—and Raphael Payet, who in his first call-up nevertheless showcased good speed, secured the win. The Czech Republic finished in second place, just 2 points behind the winning France, while the home team, Germany, stepped onto the third step of the podium and perhaps could have done even better had Jan Deitenbach not crashed and lost important positions. The 2026 edition of the Trophy of Nations comes to a close, marking its first time on a street circuit, and given the spectacle offered by the riders and the large crowd that packed the natural grandstands of Sankt Wendel, it is certainly an edition to remember.

Melvin Viola gets a great start from the front row and takes the lead of the group. The French rider first had to deal with Swiss rider Nathan Terraneo; despite racing with a 250, he held his own against the more powerful 450s, and after the Swiss rider, Viola had to fend off attacks from Paul Muller. Thanks to an excellent performance by Gabin Pernat, who secured fourth place, France takes the lead after the first moto, followed by Germany and Switzerland.

RACE 2 S1oN Junior (Riders 1 + Riders 2 + Riders 3)
In this second moto, Melvin Viola had to contend with a fired-up Eemeli Astedt. The Finnish rider, who stayed ahead of the Frenchman for a lap, made a few mistakes that deprived him of the chance to battle all the way to the checkered flag, ultimately finishing in fourth position. Melvin Viola was thus able to manage the race without taking major risks, and thanks to Gabin Pernat’s second-place finish and Adrien Sarda’s sixth place, they managed to take home the Junior Trophy. The home team, Germany, finished in second position; they could have aimed for victory, but their star rider, Eddy Frech, suffered a puncture following a crash in this second moto and was forced to retire from the race. The Swiss team finished third, having fielded three excellent young riders, with Nathan Terraneo securing third place in this second moto as well.
