LEONARDO LAPADULA S2 EUROPEAN CHAMPION, MARK SZABO SM JUNIOR CHAMPION

Mettet (Belgium) 11 October- The final race day of the European championships crowned the two new winners. In S2, Leonardo Lapadula (Team 11) with a great weekend became the new 2026 S2 European Champion, also winning the Mettet race. In SM Junior, Mark Szabo (Husqvarna) had the task of managing his standings lead, and he did just that, taking home the title.

S2 Race 2

Leonardo Lapadula (Team 11) gets a perfect start from third grid position and takes the lead into the first corner. The young Italian rider immediately tried to build a gap over his pursuers, but behind him Nathan Terraneo (Yamaha) was determined to snatch the race lead away from him. Unfortunately, while trying to make a pass, the Swiss rider slid off, losing two positions. Noah Champagne (TSV Racing) moved up into second place. Lapadula led the nine laps of the race without making any mistakes to take the win, with second place going to Noah Champagne and third to Nathan Terraneo. Thanks to an extraordinary season, Leonardo Lapadula is the new 2026 European Champion in the S2 class, with the silver medal going to Ukrainian rider Yevsevii Kovalov and the bronze medal to Nathan Terraneo. This concludes a great season for the young talents of S2, who will soon be the new generation competing for the world title in the coming years.
