ANNUAL APPOINTMENT FOR S1GP IN BUSCA

Busca (Italy), 4 September 2025 – At the Supermoto World Championship fifth seasonal appointment, scheduled in Busca, the paddock will enjoy two busy racing days. Together with the S1GP and SM Junior, riders will take part in the final event of the S2 European Championship with the award of the S4 European Title.

Marc Reiner Schmidt (Team 11), standings leader in the S1GP top class, ruled the first part of the season. The German World Champion, who raced while still recovering from an ankle injury, was unbeatable at the last appointment in Hungary where he showed his abilities. Marc will battle it out for the first matchball of the season and might come home with the Title, with one race to go, if he manages to take the superpole and the three race victories.  Without a doubt his rivals will try to complicate things, above all Lukas Hollbacher (Schruf Racing). The Austrian made too many mistakes this season, but his race pace is unquestionable, and he will battle it out till the last corner. Steve Bonnal (TSV Racing Factory Team TM Corse) was the author of thrilling performances and took three pole positions in a row. The French, trained by the legend of this sport – Thomas Chareyre – still has to take that step forward which will take him at the same level of his rivals but it is clear he is one of the future stars of the sport. Home rider Elia Sammartin (BRT Honda Redmoto) will try to impress the crowd. In the Rookies Cup Jan Ulman (Team 11) and Gaben Pernat (TM Moto) will be the protagonists of a tough fight since they only have a 10-point gap in the standings.

In the SM Junior, Yevsevii Kovalov (Husqvarna) tried to achieve a perfect season winning all the races. The Ukrainian rider is definitely superior compared to his riders and proved it in the first four races. In Visonta – Hungary – Yevsevii made several mistakes starting from the first session and crashed in the second moto so that the victory went to David Zsolt Bereczki (Husqvarna), who won the very first race of his career right in Hungary, while Mark Luca Iovita (Husqvarna) was third. There are 36 points dividing the front man and Iovita, so the games are not still open.

The S2 European Championship speaks French with two riders being the protagonists of the show, in a category that features 250 4-strokes or 125 2-strokes motorbikes. French men Melvin Viola (Honda) and Adrien Sarda (Honda) ruled this category which prepares the champions of the future. Young Belgian Noah Champagne (TM Moto) is currently in third place and is part of the team managed by Thomas Chareyre – a fond believer of this category – who will enroll two riders. Defending SM Junior Champ Nathan Terraneo (GasGas)  should not be underestimated, because after switching from a 125 to a 250 bike he seems to be even faster. In Hungary the rider was very strong and in Busca Terraneo will battle to take the victory.

Lastly, in the S4 only asphalt riders will battle it out for the European Champion Title in one single race where there is no room for mistakes. Last year the crowd enjoyed three amazing races full of terrific turn of events and a tough battle for the victory.
