Visonta, September 5 – We have reached the final act of the S4 European Championship. In the absence of Edoardo Bertola (KTM MTR Racing), the fight for the victory is contested between Francisco Gomez Requena (GasGas) and Alex Gourdon Rafael (Husqvarna), but taking home the victory in Race 1 is Alessandro “Point Break” Sciaretta (TSV Racing). In the S2 Class, pole position went to Nathan Terraneo (Yamaha), and in SM Junior to Mark Szabo (Husqvarna).
S4 Time Practice
Just a few minutes before taking to the track, rain fell on the Hungarian circuit, making the surface very slippery. Race control had to declare a wet race, and all riders took to the track on rain tires. Championship leader Edoardo Bertola (KTM MTR Racing) is not taking part in this final round due to a prior commitment in the Junior GP. The battle for pole position was narrowed down to the Spanish riders. Coming out on top right at the final available minute was Francisco Gomez Requena (GasGas), ahead of fellow countryman Alex Gourdon Rafael (Husqvarna). A surprise third place went to Polish rider Kamil Krzemien (Husqvarna), while fourth position went to Alessandro Sciarretta (TSV Racing) despite two crashes.

S4 Race 1:
At the start of the first moto, Francisco Gomez Requena took charge of proceedings, getting off to a perfect start from pole position. Right behind him was an exceptional Alessandro Sciarretta, who moved into second place, but his position lasted only a few corners before he was overtaken by Alex Gourdon Rafael. The two Spaniards built a small gap over the Italian rider. Gomez Requena managed to hold onto the lead for nine laps, but then had to succumb to Gourdon Rafael, who managed to open up a good gap. From this moment, however, the race took a different turn: Alessandro Sciarretta started setting extremely fast lap times, first getting past Francisco Gomez Requena and then closing the gap to the race leader within three laps. With three laps remaining, he launched the decisive attack, allowing him to take the win in the first heat.

S2 Free Practice:
From the very first laps of free practice, Nathan Terraneo (Yamaha) showed great feeling with the Visonta track; the Swiss rider set the fastest time of the session, but right behind him Yevsevii Kovalov (Husqvarna) managed to keep the gap under a hundredth of a second. European Championship leader Leonardo Lapadula (Team 11) recorded the third fastest time, though far behind the top two.

S2 Time Practice:
Nathan Terraneo (Yamaha) was in great form in this S2 official practice session. Despite a lowside, the Swiss rider demonstrated incredible superiority right from the early laps, forcing his pursuers to work hard to keep the gap in check. Behind him in second position was the red plate holder Leonardo Lapadula (Team 11), who managed to keep the gap within 4 tenths of a second, but from third position onward—held by Yevsevii Kovalov (Husqvarna)—the gaps stretched to over a second. Right from the morning’s first free practice, Nathan Terraneo was able to prove with actions that he was the fastest rider.

SM Junior Free practice:
David Zsolt Bereczki, the current championship leader, will not be able to take to the track due to an injury that will keep him away from racing for a long time. In the first free practice session of the day, the fastest rider was Lorenz Bang (KTM), who managed to set the best time despite rapidly changing weather conditions, finishing ahead of Mark Szabo (Husqvarna), with Dovydas Skrockas (GasGas) completing the front row.

SM Junior Time practice:
Qualifying in the SM Junior category saw a shake-up at the top of the standings. Mark Szabo (Husqvarna) managed to put together the perfect lap, and none of his rivals could match him; even Lorenz Bang, who had set the fastest time in practice, improved his time but ended up a second behind. Completing the front row was Lithuanian rider Davydas Skrockas (GasGas).
